Casual Vacancy Beanacre, Shaw, Whitley & Blackmore Ward

A casual vacancy has arisen on Melksham Without Parish Council following the resignation of Councillor Chris Griffiths.We are currently at the statutory Notice of Vacancy stage.Registered electors in the Melksham Without (Beanacre, Shaw, Whitley & Blackmore) Ward now have the opportunity to request an election to fill the vacancy. If 10 registered electors from that ward make a valid written request to the Returning Officer by 1 October 2026, an election will be held.If an election is not requested by that date, the vacancy will then be filled by co-option.If an election is called, it will take place no later than 3 December 2026.The vacancy process is administered by Wiltshire Council.
